Our Story

Docte Consulting was founded in 2004 by Managing Director Dr Stuart Kings, NEC4 drafter.

In its early years, the company specialised in training and consultancy for cutting-edge collaborative frameworks.

We now offer a portfolio of bespoke services that includes NEC training and consultancy, procurement support, bid support, commercial management and project management.

In 2007, Dr Kings was appointed as a consultant for the NEC. In the same year, he launched the Sypro online project management system for NEC3 & 4 contracts.

Docte Consulting has extensive experience in the health, education, nuclear, transport, social housing and mainstream construction sectors.

Dr. Stuart Kings

Stuart provides training and consultancy throughout the world on the NEC and has authored numerous articles.

Through work in all industry sectors he has gained a detailed practical knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts and the ingredients to successful project delivery.

He has also developed the NEC3 ECC Accredited Project Manager programme for the NEC.

He recently co-authored NEC4 Practical Solutions and was part of the NEC4 drafting team.

01 NEC3 & 4 CONSULTANCY & TRAINING

We offer practical training and consultancy covering the full suite of NEC contracts. We’ll encourage you to use the NEC as a project management tool rather than a legal document.

We can help you draft and write contracts, give advice on which contracts to use and how to set them up. We also mentor individuals and teams so they get the most out of the NEC.

Training is tailored to your organisation. Our clients include consultants, main contractors, subcontractors and clients within the public and private sector.

Docte provides training for Thomas Telford, owners of the NEC suite of contracts and our Managing Director Dr Stuart Kings is an NEC consultant.

We helped pioneer the use of the NEC contracts in Europe through our work on the £130 million International Criminal Court in The Hague. Through our sister company, Sypro we offer leading online project management software for NEC3 & 4 contracts.

01 NEC3 TRAINING & CONSULTANCY

NEC3 training and consultancy.

Brief:

Provide consultancy, training and mentoring to the project management team.

Results:

Successful development of the contract documents, mentoring and implementation training.

Support in procuring a consultant framework and a number of contractor frameworks.

Brief:

Lead in the procurement of consultant and contractor frameworks. Train the client on the use of NEC3 as part of this process.

Results:

Successful award of consultant and contractor frameworks. This was followed with implementation workshops and continuous improvement workshops to ensure successful delivery.
